An Exchange on Future Collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD), Shanghai

On October 18th 2019, the URA consortium team was invited to the prestigious Chinese Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD) Shanghai branch. An exchange was conducted with planners experienced in urban-rural planning projects in the Huangyan-Taizhou region, with dialogue about future collaboration formats. The urban design department director, Mr Liu Di, presented a recently completed urban design project in Taizhou - the Urban Design of the Central Innovation Centre (CIC) Project, located in Jiaojiang District. Besides discussing current planning approaches in Taizhou and sharing related planning material, Mr Liu discussed the achievements of the CIC project, including the revision of land-use types on the planning policy level to support local government and entrepreneurs. In addition, potential long-term collaboration formats between CAUPD and URA were discussed.
